I also live in Montgomery Co. My daughter will be 14 in July. My husband and I have come to the decision that she will be removed from public school this year, we are going to let her finish out this year and submit our letter of intent that we will be homeschooling her. She will also be "redoing" 7th grade, as this year has been nothing but a waste for her as well.
We have been looking into some options for socialization for her.
She is very interested in joining 4-h (you can get the information from the county extension office).
We are also looking into her doing som volounteer work over the summer. She likes horses so I am hoping to fins someone who maybe does riding for the handicaped to see if she can volounteer there. I think it would be a great experience for her.
Other than those two we are still looking for things that may be of interest and people from our area.
Please feel free to drop me a private email. Your daughter sounds like she is having the same issues as my own. Im curious if they are attending the same school.
