I live close to Plum, but in another school district. I´m leary about this whole thing, because if one district tries to pull something like this in an area, then other districts might play copy-cat. It sounds like they are just trying to have some say in your home instruction. It has nothing to do with making sure that the child is being properly educated, but it has everything to do with their need to control. If I were you, I´d contact HSLDA to see if they can contact the school district for you on your behalf. In my experience, school officials don´t listen to the average joe, but they do listen to an attorney. I pay $11 per month to HSLDA to have piece of mind just in case something like this arises. I´m sure that they´d love to be informed about this. It might even make it into their publication that they put out quarterly about different states and school districts that try to twist the law to have some kind of control over homeschoolers.
