Merry Meet Everyone
I currently live in Montgomery Co. altho I do hope we will be moving to Luzerne Co. before the summer is over. My husband and I have 2 children 14 and 3. My daughter who is 14 currently attends public school.
We have had a lot of issues with her attending public school, pretty much from the time she left private school (when my first husband and I moved to PA from MD). We can not afford to send her to private school and I very much want to home school her.
My daughter is VERY bright, has been tested and has above average intelligence, but is faring very poorly in public school.
I have watched the battle she has gone through (with bullies and disrespectful teachers and staff) and I do not want to impose this on my son.
I have absolutely no clue as to where to actually begin. I have tried talking to friends and family, all have discouraged it except for my sister and brother.
I have heard roumors that they have banned home schooling in CA. altho I have not actually looked into it. And I have been told that because I did not finish high school that the state will not allow me to home school her even if I get my GED. (Im by no means stupid, but real life caused me to need a job and I had to leave to help support my parents who became ill.)
Any advice at all would be most appreciated. I am not the most computer savvy person in the world and when tryiong to "search" for information I usually get frustrated and give up.
My latest frustrated effort led me here. The bigest things I need to know at this moment are what the laws are here in PA in reguards to homeschooling.
If anyone can also help me find out what the actuall immuniation laws are here I would love them forever!
