7th Annual Western PA Spring Volleyball Tournament

This event is sanctioned by the American Athletic Union of the U.S., Inc.

Who can participate:

· Co-ed senior teams (all participants must be age 18 or below as of Sept. 1 2009)

· Co-ed junior teams (all participants must be age 14 or below as of Sept 1, 2009)

[All participants must be homeschooled or cyber-charter schooled students. Teams play six players at a time including at least 2 boys and 2 girls.]

When:

· Monday May 3, 2010, 9 AM -- 6 PM. (Note: if more than 20 teams sign up, we will move the starting time up to 8:30 AM or 8:00 AM.)

[Teams traveling from a distance can arrive as late as 10:30 am and still play a full tournament schedule. You do not need to plan to be there on time since less than half the teams will begin to play right away.]

Where: Monroeville Sports, Monroeville, about a mile from the Pittsburgh (Monroeville) exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike. From Monroeville Exit of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (Exit 57) take Route 22 West Business a very short distance until you get to Route 48. Turn left onto Route 48 South. After the Fourth Traffic light go down hill and turn right onto McBeth Drive just after the CGI Wireless store. Go a short distance on McBeth. Driveway is on left. You have just passed it if you come to Manor Care Health Services.

How:

· There will be two age groups (Junior and Senior) and three divisions within each age group with A being for better teams who want to play against the best competition. Teams will play all day long (no team will be eliminated). Championships will occur at about 5pm with an awards ceremony at 5:45.

Cost:

· Entry fee is $125 per team payable to PA Homeschoolers. (An additional $5 per team will be charged if you do not e-mail in a team roster with each player's AAU number before the tournament.) All participants must have current AAU membership which must be obtained before the competition begins. [Registrations must be postmarked by April 20 or delivered in person at the April 19 Eastern PA Tournament. Pay $10 in advance, and remainder at tournament.]

Note: Any teams that wish can participate in all three PA Homeschoolers tournaments or in just one tournament, but if a team just wants to participate in two tournaments, one of those two will have to be the Eastern PA Tournament.
